NextLaw and its Tacoma criminal defense lawyers believe in the next generation of entrepreneurs. The team hopes that its new scholarship, Providing Support to Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship, will be the tool one ambitious student needs to see their dream business take flight.
The Providing Support to Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship promises $2,500 to a student who can impress NextLaw with a description of a business they want to start. The scholarship winner will also receive NextLaw’s support as they launch their business.
Students have until October 1, 2025, to submit their applications for NextLaw’s consideration. We wish all of our applicants the best of luck.
Who is Eligible?
NextLaw intends to make its Providing Support to Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship open to undergraduate and graduate students in all areas of study. All hopefuls should still review the qualifying criteria to make sure they’re eligible for the firm’s support.
To qualify for the Providing Support to Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship, you must:
- Be enrolled at an accredited college, university, and/or graduate school in the United States
- Submit all necessary application materials by October 1, 2025
- Agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions
To complete your application, please fill out the application form on this page and upload a link to an unlisted YouTube video answering NextLaw’s prompt.
Scholarship Video Topic
Students applying for NextLaw’s new scholarship should consider their own ambitions and what they would do if they had the resources to develop a start-up of their own. NextLaw’s scholarship selection committee specifically wants students to consider how their formal education will help them achieve their business goals.
NextLaw intends to provide its scholarship winner not only with the resources to carry on with their academic career but also with support in launching their dream company.
When applying for this scholarship, students should present their business plan as a video no more than three minutes long. Students can shoot their videos, upload them to YouTube as unlisted videos, and share a link to that unlisted video along with their NextLaw scholarship application form.
Creating a Powerful Scholarship Application Video
Our team encourages applicants to carefully craft their business pitches. For the best possible results, students should:
- Record their videos in well-lit areas
- Hold their recording device of choice as still as possible
- Include their full name and the name of the scholarship they’re applying for at the beginning or end of their video
- Include references and credits as necessary, specifying any sources used to edit their video or add supplementary footage
- Use copyright-free content to add to the strength of their presentation
- Post their video under a catchy title
While we encourage students to flex their creative editing muscles with tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, the scholarship selection committee will not award the Providing Support to Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship based on a video’s editing.
Additionally, students should not use AI to generate voiceovers for their videos, create a script, or produce fake actors to uphold their ideas. The use of AI to generate a video wholesale or in any way the firm deems improper will lead to a student’s automatic disqualification.
Application Deadline
Students have until October 1, 2025, to complete and submit their scholarship applications.
We ask that students make sure they’ve filled out all elements of their application form and properly uploaded their scholarship video. Unfortunately, NextLaw cannot consider applications submitted without all essential materials or after the scholarship deadline passes.
We also ask that neither students nor their parents contact NextLaw after submitting a scholarship application. We cannot provide updates on the scholarship selection committee’s progress. If we have any further questions about a student’s essay, a representative will reach out to that student directly.
