JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a talented, motivated, and inventive Personal Injury Attorney to join our growing team. As member of our team, you must be committed to and aligned with our Vision and Mission, as well as our Core Values. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow our personal injury practice – to be a key player responsible in developing that practice area into a major part of NextLaw – and make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform thorough assessments of liability, damages, and coverage in personal injury cases.
- Manage a growing caseload from signup through litigation.
- Assist our Criminal Defense attorneys with court coverage (and more, if applicable)
- Negotiate settlements involving complex liability and damages issues.
- Take and defend depositions, including expert defense witnesses.
- Handle court appearances, draft and argue motions, and guide cases through all stages of litigation.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships built on openness and trust, turning happy clients into enthusiastic supporters.
BASE REQUIREMENTS
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Washington and local bar
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Personal Injury, including litigation
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for advocating for clients injured due to fault of others
COMPENSATION
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with benefits and opportunities for professional development and growth within the firm.
Position is full-time, salaried. Annual compensation ranges from $135,000 – 160,000+ (base plus incentives) depending on experience, and even more important – HUSTLE.
Benefits include 4 weeks annual PTO, full health/dental/vision (self and dependents), Retirement Plan, paid parking, and a relaxed hybrid/office arrangement to suit your personal needs, among other perks.
